Jonathan Goldberg: From the environment to the people
Environmental Photography highlighting how individuals interact with their surrounding landscapes.
Jonathan Goldberg is a professional photographer with an upcoming exhibition. He presenting a talk covering his career and work to date.
In his work, Jonathan is primarily interested in his surrounding environment and the stories that are built upon it. His most recent projects have focused on the Thames Islands that are a largely unknown and peaceful area of South England.
Called the Thames Islands, this project explores these areas alongside pictures of the inhabitants. He builds up a photographic story of the lives of residents. Jonathan showcases the unique and interesting stories behind the people and their relatively low profile but easily accessible Islands.
Jonathan will also show work from his previous long term projects including a residence project with the River Trust and another major project on the Eco village called Grow Heathrow.
His focus here was on the activism and discontent individuals felt at the expansion of the Heathrow runway. He explores the environmental and societal impacts, with climate change concerns at the forefront of this movement.
Jonathan’s upcoming exhibition will focus on the Thames Island project. It is at the River and Rowing Museum in Henley from August for six months.
