Salvation Mountain & Slab City by Gordana Johnson

Salvation Mountain and Slab City is my new photo-book (December 2024 ) which documents my visit to the sites in Sonoran Desert, California in 2018..
Salvation Mountain is one of the largest folk and religious art installations in the world created single-handedly by a remarkable man using discarded junk, adobe, hay bales and lead-free paint.
Slab City is a refuge for the people who want to be far from civilization and law. It was built on the slabs of an abandoned US Marine Corps camp.
