Portrait photographer Liz Handy has developed two forms of portraiture that tell more of the story “beyond the face”. One form uses multiple photographs in one image where the same person can appear several times in different roles. More recently she has created “still lives” after the Dutch l7th century vanitas paintings. She shares her techniques to help people have a fuller understanding of themselves.

This workshop will show you the two new ways of doing portraits that she is developing now. You are asked to bring the following:
1. Your own laptop with some form of Photoshop (Elements is ok)
2. A group photo of your own family or someone else's
3. Three separate photos of yourself and two friends or family members each taken in the same place
4. Three photos of symbols/objects/places that describe each person above (so at least 9 photos in all).
All photos should be on your computer in digital form
