CAROL HUDSON:
The Photographic Sequence as it relates to on-line book publishing (Workshop)

Saturday November 28th, 10am-4pm
Thames Valley University
Ealing Campus
St Mary’s Road, Ealing, W5 5RF (MAP)

Cost: £35 for LIP Members
16 places

In this workshop participants will be encouraged to look beyond the single image and to consider visual and other narrative forms as a means of communicating more complex statements where individual photographs cease to be “things in themselves” and become parts of the whole.

On-line book publishing has offered new and exciting opportunities for photographers to engage the reader actively in the viewing process - not only to see the images on the page, but also to think about how the photographs, text and physical form of the object all contribute to the meaning.

Participants are requested to bring a set of photographs (en-print size is ideal) that might be transformed into a book. Please bring all the photographs that you have relating to the concept for the book and do not edit the images in any way.

Carol Hudson is a photographer and lecturer. She has been making photographic books for many years and still finds the process challenging and rewarding. Most recently she curated an exhibition at the PM gallery in London “What Happens Next”, which explored the photographic sequence.
